Larry Fitzgerald cursed to be on Madden Cover?

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald are to share the cover of Madden 10, due out in August. If you feel strongly in the "Madden Curse" ( and I do not-....read why in Fantasy Football Guidebook), you may want to lower LF in your WR player rankings.

TE Tony Gonzalez traded from KC to ATL

The 10 time Pro Bowler Tony G is going to Atlanta and KC gets a 2nd round draft pick in 2010.
Just when you thought it was safe to take a breather before the NFL draft on Saturday along comes the boom.
Good news for Matt Ryan and the Falcons. Matt Cassel has to go down a bit in the rankings now that he does not have a great dump off option.

Other news these past weeks in case you were away at the beach....
Torry Holt found a home with JAX
PHIL acquired Pro Bowl LT Jason Peters from BUF

John Madden retires

It was time but I sure enjoyed the ride while it lasted. He gave us too many honest impressions of the game from his "what the heck was he thinking"? to his "wham" and telestrator antics.

I will miss him but I think it was time.

2009 NFL schedule reveals much.......

2009 NFL Schedule is out and some benefit and some do not.

The NYG and SEA both have 3 game road trips. No other team has that many so the NFL did a good job leveling the playing field.

MIA, NYJ, CAR and ATL all play harder schedules then last year and may see a slight reversal of W/L record. The Jets and Dolphins are most likely to back slide.

Be careful when looking at the schedule strictly from a W/L position. As the NFC North gets to play Detroit twice and their 0-16 record really makes their road look easy. Then again maybe it is..........

Cutler to da Bears, Orton to Denver, Schefller up for sale, B Marshall still in trouble

Just when I thought the Redskins had inked a deal to get Cutler and make the first part of my QB prediction a reality.....Chicago comes out of nowhere and offers two first rounders (one in 2009 and 2010) and Orton for Cutler.

So now Jay gets his wish and goes to Chicago. The old adage be careful what you wish for may be painfully self fulfilling there. Can you name one Bear WR other than Devin Hester? Well we're waiting........

Chicago also signed OT Orlando Pace this week so that helps shore up the OL. Good news for Jay.

Sure Greg Olsen is a good TE who can only get better but who will Jay throw long TD passes? Bank on a decrease for Cutler performance wise. Duh! Its Chicago where they run (and pass ) to Matt Forte. Hester, Olsen and WR#2 (I will accept either Earl Bennett or Rashied Davis....did you get their name right?) all get a small up tick. Now maybe its time for CHI to get Torry Holt to help this team make a move.

As for Orton, rumor has it that TE Scheffler is up for sale and Brandon Marshall ..........well lets just say he is not the poster child for the NFL.
