Ask the Expert Question of the Week: Has your strategy for dealing with injury concerns changed this season?

There have been some confusing and conflicting injury reports this season. Do you have a general strategy for dealing with injury concerns and game-time decisions, and has it changed this season?

No real changes. I always look at whether or not the player practices on Friday. A full practice is best. Limited depends on the injury. If he does practice  and is questionable then it is pretty safe to think he will play on Sunday. If he is doubtful then of course I do not start him as he is most likely not playing. The dreaded game-time-decision is a nightmare if they are in the 4pm or Sunday or Monday night games. Planning for the contingency of "what if they don't play" is the smartest move. Often simply moving a player to the flex spot will open up more options in case such a player turns up gimp.

This year I am in "just" 13 leagues... six are "active" leagues involving day-to-day roster management (adds/drops, lineup changes etc). Seven leagues are "draft and forget" or Draft Master/Draft Expert Leagues which require no additional work as the teams I drafted are fixed (no adds/drops, trades/waivers etc) and the computer optimizes my lineup each week.

Ask the Expert Question: Dak Prescott or Tony Romo? Which quarterback should the Cowboys be starting coming out of their bye, and which one is better for the team's fantasy prospects?

Dak Prescott or Tony Romo? Which quarterback should the Cowboys be starting coming out of their bye, and which one is better for the team's fantasy prospects?

Dak Prescott. We have seen the last Tony Romo start as a Cowboy. He will not be ready after this weeks bye which means a Week 9 start at the earliest and I think it more likely he will not be an option until Week 10 at PIT. By then there is no way to bench the hot rookie QB Prescott. Even Jerry Jones is back tracking on some of his comments in support of Romo getting his job back after the injury. The 36 year old 12-year vet will call it quits after this season or else the Cowboys will.

Ask the Expert Question of the Week: Which recent no-name WR will we be talking about in a month or a year from now?

Injuries have resulted in a number of no-name wide receivers putting up occasional big games -- guys like Cameron Meredith, Tyrell Williams, Brice Butler (or choose your own). Which one (if any) of these receivers will we still be talking about a month or a year from now?

Cameron Meredith seems to have taken over the role of WR2 in Chicago now that Kevin White is injured again and likely out for the season. With Eddie Royal and Alshon Jeffery both nursing injuries Meredith may not have a ton of competition for the majority of balls. And...both those WRs have a history of injuries so the stars are aligned for a big year for the converted QB from Illinois State. Grab him off of waivers if you can.
