How did we do in our week 1 predictions and what are the injuries for week 2?

Houston rested Arian Foster and Miles Austin looked stymied by Revis Island....until he caught a TD while someone else guarded him.

Injuries for week 2
Nate Kaeding SD K out for the season-grab Nick Novak his replacement
Steven Jackson may not play week 2 (Caddy Williams is good start this week)
Sidney Rice may not go again in week 2 (Mike Williams anyone?)
Kevin Walter HOU WR out 8-10 weeks. Jacoby Jones gets the #2 position in all likelihood.
Danny Amendola STL WR out 5-6 weeks. Bump Brandon Gibson or Greg Salas up as STL will throw tons
Derrick Ward is day to day and Arian Foster may not be ready yet. Start Ben Tate!!!
Hakeem Nicks is banged up...watch this carefully

Ask the Expert: Which player, if any, who changed teams over the weekend will go on to have fantasy value this season?

Which player, if any, who changed teams over the weekend will go on to have fantasy value this season?

Chester Taylor RB AZ is one possibility in a very limited field. Keep in mind though the Bears released Taylor for a reason and granted he appears to have lost a step at 32. His yards per carry have steadily decreased every year since 2007. But he can still be a value (remember a small value) as a 3rd down back and if (OK when) Beanie Wells injures or fumbles his way to the bench; Taylor could be there to pick up the pieces. His value is higher in PPR leagues.

Peyton Manning out for week 1 officially!

It is official Peyton Manning is out for week 1. So lower your rankings for everyone except Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark and Adam Viniateri. They should do just as well with Kerry Collins behind the center.
Other worries;
1) Arian Foster-does HOU start him even though PM is not playing against them? Perhaps they let AF rest another week
2) Miles Austin is visiting Revis Island this week. Lower expectations for him.
3) PHI vs STL can you say shootout?
4) Looking for a survivor pick this week? NE over Miami is about as sure as thing as it gets
5) If you have the NYG DEF in any kind of survivor FF league (you know where you can use them once per year) now is the time to use them as they face WAS and their deer in the headlights QB flavor of the week.

FFPC tops out at 720 teams-twice as many as last year! Peyton Manning now looking good

Peyton Manning is now doubtful for week 1 and there are tons of rumors about another surgery needed. Stay away from Peyton as your #1 QB. Downgrade all of your IND players for now, except maybe Viniateri. Arian Foster may not be in the lineup week 1. If I had a #1 RB recovering from a hamstring injury and we faced a Colts teams without PM and I had two capable backup RBs in Derrick Ward and Ben Tate I would be severely tempted to bench Foster for week 1 to rest.
In other news the Fantasy Football Players Championship (www.theFFPC.com) kicks off 2011 with final entries of 720 teams!!! There is a new king of High Stakes Fantasy Football (HSFF) and it appears the FFPC with a $200,000 Grand Prize and live drafts in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace is the place to play.

Jags to cut QB David Garrard-Move Blaine Gabbert up your QB rankings!

Hard to believe but Jay Glazer of FoxSports is reporting that the Jacksonville Jaguars have told David Garrard they are cutting him. If true, move Blaine Gabbert up your QB rankings to QB30. Luke McCown may start on Sunday but Gabbert should be starting for good by mid season.
Bump up MJD a bit but Mercedes Lewis and any Jags WR you were willing to gamble on all seem a bit more risky now.
