Fantasy Football Tips #213 For New QBs-Play Action Pass is their friend

The play action pass is an easy pass for a new or inexperienced QB. They fake a handoff to the RB then turn back on half of the field and look at 2 options on the other side of the field. What could be easier. They either look to primary option down field or dump the ball off to the outlet usually the RB coming out of the backfield. So with rookie, new or inexperienced QBs expect more passes to the RBs (if they can catch) and to 1 primary WR.

NFL-Player talks Predictions?

Deal gets done but after March 4th CBA expiration. So a lock out will occur.
I predict a deal is done the week before the NFL draft (Draft starts on Thurs 28 April and runs thru Sat 30 April).
So look for a settlement/compromise/deal whatever you want to call it the week of 18-22 April (more than likely on Friday 22 April or even Sat-Sunday thereafter). The NFL will really want it done before the Draft week hoopla.

Outcomes:
-16 game season in 2011, 18 Game season in 2012 and beyond (2 less preseason games)
-Better health care and a baseline pension for retired players
-Cap on first round draft picks compensation-it really is crazy that the 10th pick of the 1st round of the NFL draft can make more before stepping on the field than a vet at the same position.
-Expanded rosters
-Some disciplinary punishment adjustments-either Goodell has to have a more transparent policy on how it is dissed out or some secondary appeal process will be created.
-Some kind of revenue protection scheme to give the owners their share first to compensate for known upfront costs that they are bearing.

NFL doldrums+Valentines day argggggggggg!

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Christmas and Valentines day had the most suicides. I cannot speak for Christmas but this past Sunday 13 Feb (the day before Valentines day) was pretty bleak. I can see why some people are affected emotionally by the 14th day in Feb. especially as it is near the first Sunday without football on TV.
I mean think about it. Imagine if you are single and without a girlfriend (I spent most of my adult life in this position so I can throw stones here people). You turn on your TV on the first Sunday without football only to find NBA basketball, golf and wait on it PBA Bowling. Ohhhhh pinch me.

Add to this the terrible dread you have that the upcoming NFL season is going down in flames as the labor negotiations between the NFL players association and the owners rapidly disintegrates.

Lets review:
NO GF on V Day
No football on Sunday
No NFL in 2011'

Ok now I am depressed.

Fantasy Football Index magazine 2010 Expert QB Rankings and Overall Results

Congratulations to Pretzel May of FantasyDraftMaster.com the winner
of the 2010 Fantasy Football Index Experts Poll.
The contest involved 20 other analysts/Experts (including myself) and was one of the most wide-open polls in years with a different leader every day and every expert finished below-average in at least one category. What does this all mean? No one can be right all the time and most of us "Experts" are just trying to stay above the mean. More on that later.

Cory Bonini (KFFL) won quarterbacks, followed by Scott Sachs (Perfect Season
Fantasy Football) and Jeffrey Kamys (Dr. Stats Fantasy Sports).

Second place this year goes to Lance Ralls. He was selected by the magazine to participate.
Third place goes to Scott Pianowski (Yahoo! Sports). Scott is always one of the
top finishers in this competition. He always seems to be above average.

The top 11 finishers in this competition win spots in the Mock Draft
Competitions that is part of Fantasy Football Index magazine. Mays will get
first choice of where he wants to select in that draft (first, second, or
whatever). The final three spots in that league go to Kamys, Pappano and
David Dorey (The Huddle). Going into the last position rankings I was 10th but a 16th place finish in QBs sunk me to 16th overall too. My Tony Romo ranking of 4th hurt as his injury killed me. It did not help my case either with Matt Leinart at 16th (these were done in May folks!) and I was highest on Donovan McNabb (8th) then all others. No apologies, I will continue to go out on the limb since some of my other calls (Matt Forte 19th-only 2 others picked him in top 19; Benjamin Watson, TE 20th) are great!

Sam Hendricks, aka FFGuidebook.com, finishes 11th out of 20 Experts in Fantasy Football Index RB rankings, holds on to 10th overall

Thanks to my pick of Matt Forte as the 19th best RB (only 2 other Experts had him in the Top 20), I finished 11th in RBs despite being the highest on DeAngelo Williams (5th) whose injury crushed me in the standings.


With one position left to be graded, Pappano is the overall leader, 136
points ahead of Alan Satterlee (Dynasty Rogues) and 452 ahead of Scott
Pianowski (Yahoo Sports). Rosenthal is sitting in 4th.

The top 11 finishers in the poll win spots in the Mock Draft league that
will published in Fantasy Football Index magazine. Right now, Chris Liss of
Rotowire.com is holding that 11th and final spot. Just on the outside
looking in (needing a good showing in quarterbacks to move up) are David
