Week 10 FantasyFootballGuidebook.com Results

My leagues and weekly results/standings 
Notes: if in bold I won this week, most of the DM leagues are total points standings so I translate that into Wins and Losses by assuming if I beat half of the other teams in TP then I Won.

 This was the 2nd week with more losses than wins!!! And they have both come back to back. Not good!

Of the 13 leagues five are "Expert" leagues either for fantasy football magazines (Pro Forecast Fantasy Football or Fantasy Football Index) or the Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC) Pros versus Joes contest or the Scott Fish Bowl 480 Invitational contest.


This year I am in "just" 13 leagues... six are "active" leagues involving day-to-day roster management (adds/drops, lineup changes etc). Seven leagues are "draft and forget" or Draft Master/Draft Expert Leagues which require no additional work as the teams I drafted are fixed (no adds/drops, trades/waivers etc) and the computer optimizes my lineup each week.

Ask the Expert Question of the week: which rookie wideout do you believe will go on to have the best NFL career? Why?

Now that you've had half a season's worth of games to see them (most of them), which rookie wideout do you believe will go on to have the best NFL career? Why?

 Michael Thomas is my choice. He will play in a throw first system (NO) with a great QB (Brees). Will Fuller gets an honorable mention. Some of the others with perhaps more talent lack a great QB or play in a run first system which limits their targets.

Ask the Expert Question of the Week: Has your strategy for dealing with injury concerns changed this season?


There have been some confusing and conflicting injury reports this season. Do you have a general strategy for dealing with injury concerns and game-time decisions, and has it changed this season?






No real changes. I always look at whether or not the player practices on Friday. A full practice is best. Limited depends on the injury. If he does practice  and is questionable then it is pretty safe to think he will play on Sunday. If he is doubtful then of course I do not start him as he is most likely not playing. The dreaded game-time-decision is a nightmare if they are in the 4pm or Sunday or Monday night games. Planning for the contingency of "what if they don't play" is the smartest move. Often simply moving a player to the flex spot will open up more options in case such a player turns up gimp.
