Fantasy Football Tip #224: Start to watch the Weather Channel before the match ups now

It always happens right about now and definitely in Nov and Dec.
Weather becomes a factor.....
So with Hurricane Sandy approaching today. Now is a great time to emphasize the weather aspect and how it can help or hurt your fantasy players.
Be sure to look for rain, snow and winds and how they affect some players and positions more than others.

Fantasy Football Tip #223: Think NFL trade as you may free agent pick up choices

Many are down on RBs DeAngelo Williams (CAR) and even Steven Jackson (STL) this season. But before you drop any RBs or decide who to add this week before the NFL trade deadline factor in possible NFL trades.

The NFL trade deadline is this Wednesday 31 October. DeAngelo Williams has been dropped in a few leagues and he  becomes an interesting flyer simply due to the potential that he may be traded to another team who might start him. Same can be said for a platooning Steven Jackson. Think outside the box and take a chance on them for a week.

Fantasy Tip #222: Look to RBs who backup rookie starting RBs later in the season

Rookie RBs who serve as the starting RB for teams tend to falter or "hit a wall" toward the later half of the season (games12-16) because of the workload they experience and the inexperience of a grueling 20 game season (4 preseason games and 16 regular games). So....... it is time to take a flyer by adding free agent RBs who backup Rookie RBs who are the main man in the offense.

This means look at players like:
Montario Hardesty CLE
Danny Ware/LeGarrette Blount TB
Joique Bell DET (bc Mikel Leshoure is not used to a long season)
James Starks (same for Alex Green)
WAS RB dejour

Good luck in the critical next 4 games as many 12-team leagues use an 11 game regular season and the playoffs of week 12 are just 4 games away,

Ask the Expert Question: Based on what you've seen so far, which rookie wideout do you currently believe will have the best NFL career?

Based on what you've seen so far, which rookie wideout do you currently believe will have the best NFL career?

This is such a tricky question. No WRs have really stood out as breakouts for the next decade based on their current rookie season performance. So Justin Blackmon remains my pick for dynasty keeper. He needs a QB though.

ASK THE EXPERTS appears weekly at http://www.fantasyindex.com/

NFL Picks for Week 8

Last week I was 10-3 (missed on my very close upsets)

Straight up I like:
MIN
PIT
DET
CHI
NE
TEN
NYJ
CLE (Upset)
GB
PHI
KC
NYG
DEN
SF

Survivor pick has to be GB over an injured JAX. If you are running out of teams...MIN and SF have strong match ups.
