FFPC Pros vs. Joes

I know I have mentioned the winners of the Pro vs Joes in an earlier post but I just had to bring it up one more time.

Did a Pro Finally Win Pros vs. Joes?

A pro has never won the Pros vs. Joes Challenge. No, seriously, no pro has ever won it. 2009 was the first year won by Joe Dellzenero. Then Les Sandlin won in 2010. Jason Tapley took it down in 2011. And finally Danny Mueller won in 2012. So luck would even out and a pro would finally win in this, the fifth season, right? Wrong again! High stakes player and "Joe" Chris Banks dominated his league and the overall leaderboard scoring an outrageous 3194.85 points to average 199.68 points. To be fair to the pros they did win three of the six leagues:
  • "Tecmo Bowl" League #1 - Joe - Jeff Tirabassi - Cornfins P's vs. J's - 2835.8
  • "Madden" League #2 - Joe - Wayne Ellis - Coltsfan - 2849.8
  • "SportsTalk" League #3 - Joe - Chris Banks - Cobra Kai - 3194.85
  • "NFL Fever" League #4 - Pro - Kevin English - DraftSharks.com - 2743
  • "NFL2K" League #5 - Pro - Jim Day - FantasyTaz.com - 2881.45
  • "Mutant" League #6 - Pro - Micah James - FantasyInsights.com - 2799.2 (My league where I cam in 8th)
All six of the players listed above win a free 2014 FFPC Main Event team, which is pretty sweet! Congrats to Jeff Tirabassi, Wayne Ellis, Chris Banks, Kevin English of DraftSharks.com, Jim Day of FantasyTaz.com, and Micah James of FantasyInsights.com for their victories.

I can only hope the FFPC does the PvJ again. It is a great contest!

Special thanks goes to Darren Armani of FantasyMojo.com for organizing it. All the information and results from the competition can be found at the Pros vs Joes Central page at FantasyMojo.com. Attn Joes: do not forget to enter the Pros vs. Joes drawing this coming spring.

Fantasy Baseball Players Championship (FBPC)

Less than 30 days from now, the Fantasy Baseball Players Championship will hold its first Main Event draft of the season, and just over 100 teams are lined up to compete for a $100,000 grand prize starting on March 23rd. If you have not locked up your Main Event team yet, you still have time to get squared away on your $1600 entry. Just visit PlayFBPC.com to sign up now. And for those of you who already have a team, remember you can acquire additional teams for just $1400. Don't miss out!

In addition to the $100,000 grand prize, the FBPC also raised league prizes to $11,000 as well. The entire guaranteed prize pool will be held in attorney escrow all season long, too. If you're looking for the best shot at cashing big money in high stakes fantasy baseball, you cannot find a better chance than the FBPC. The 2014 prize structure was built for a 224-team contest, and they not even half way there yet. The most you'll compete against is 223 other teams--their hard cap this year. But given that we are less than 30 days away from the first draft, they may not even fill 224.

All drafts are being held online. Here are the four dates to choose from:
  • Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 at 5:00 pm Pacific / 8:00 pm Eastern
  • Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 at 5:00 pm Pacific / 8:00 pm Eastern
  • Thursday, March 27th, 2014 at 5:00 pm Pacific / 8:00 pm Eastern
  • Sunday, March 30th, 2014 at 10:00 am Pacific / 1:00 pm Eastern

If you have not signed up yet, stop reading now and go here to register today.

NFFC Early Bird Discount

The NFFC has announced their 2014 NFFC Schedule of Events earlier than ever before so that you can plan ahead and book your draft dates. The NFFC also wants to reward owners who commit to the NFFC early this year with an Early-Bird Special that will be valid through May 12th. The NFL Draft begins on May 8th, so they will run this Early-Bird Special through Monday after the Draft.

Here's the deal: Sign up for any NFFC Classic or Primetime event by May 12th and receive $100 off the $1,600 price. You can get any single Main Event for $1,500 and if you take multiple Main Events there will be no Events Fee or co-manager fee for those teams or any other live event. That's quite a savings, especially if you're drafting with us in Las Vegas or New York City.

The grand prize for the NFFC Primetime is again $150,000 and the grand prize for the NFFC Classic is $100,000. Lock in your $100 off savings now and get ready to compete for these grand prizes and the $6,500 and $7,000 league prizes. No deposit needed to secure this savings, just your commitment via an official Registration. Payments won't run until Aug. 1st, so keep your money for now but secure your team in any of our live events. You can even change the date and time of your Classic or Primetime after May 12th to retain the $100 discount.

This obviously helps the NFFC plan for each location and it gets the momentum going early on our live events. The NFFC has four different contests with grand prizes of $100,000 or more and expect to start the drafting sooner than ever before with the NFFC Draft Champions National Championship and the NFFC Cutline Championship.

Please check out the Schedule of Events when you have time and save money by committing to the NFFC early this year. The NFFC will compile the Signup List and update it as folks come in. This is their 11th anniversary season and want to make this as special as it can be. They will be at the Bellagio Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend and during the First Weekend of the NFL Season, Sept. 3-6. They also have an NFL Viewing Party on Thursday, Sept. 4th at the Bellagio. More details on that to come soon. And the NFFC returns to the New York Hilton on Labor Day Weekend and the Chicago Marriott O'Hare on Labor Day weekend.

Good luck to everyone in those cities and to those drafting Online.

This discount is only good through May 12th. That's why it's called an EARLY-BIRD SPECIAL!!

Congratulations to Glenn Lowy for winning the 2013 Fantasy Football World Championship (FFWC)! He overcame a lead from #1 ranked Chad Schroeder, who definitely had the edge heading into the final weekend.

Now if he can only figure out how to spend his $150,000 winnings. Chad Schroeder placed 2nd for $15,000 and Mike Santos finished 3rd overall ($7,500).
