Ask the Expert Question of the Week: Who will play in the NFC and AFC Championship games?

Who will play in the NFC and AFC Championship games?

AFC Championship New England @ Kansas City

Kansas City has the best record in the AFC and are in all likely hood the #1 seed. Very tough to knock off the Chiefs in Arrowhead so they advance. And never count out the Pats. They will have to win a few playoff games, one of which will be on the road, but they can overcome anything. Don’t bet against Brady and Belichick.

NFC Championship        Green Bay @ New Orleans

New Orleans seems pretty unstoppable. Drew Brees knows this may be his last chance at a Super Bowl despite what he says about playing for many more years. The Saints seem to have a sense of purpose and even the defense is playing better. All the elements are there-run game, QB play, WRs to count on and a defense that keeps them close. The Packers, on the other hand, are going to be the team that catches fire late and wins a few in a row to advance deep in the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers may not have as many weapons as Brees does but he has been here before. His experience moves the Pack into the Championship game.

FantasyFootballGuidebook.com Year-to-date Results

Ok it has been too long since I updated you on how I am doing in my 17 fantasy football leagues this year.

Note in leagues which are best ball (draft masters) and scored by total points only (I.e no Head to Head matchups) I have taken the liberty and giving my team a W-L record based on how they score each week versus the other teams. For example if my team scores more than half of the other teams in the league I get a W. If I score less than 6 teams I get a L.

Ask the Expert Question:

The bye weeks are upon us -- 20 teams have their byes the next four weeks. Which bench stash who hasn't emerged yet should fantasy teams continue to be patient with, and NOT drop in the coming weeks? Why him?

Nick Chubb RB CLE. He has not had many chances to start in fantasy leagues so far this year but now comes into the limelight with the trade of Carlos Hyde to JAX. Chubb faces some tough defenses, but the Browns are committed to the run. He can come off your bench and be your RB1 now with a predicted 12 points per game for the rest of the season. That will be mainly from rushing yards and TDs as Duke Johnson has the catches out of the backfield wrapped up.

Through two weeks of preseason games, pick one player -- rookie or veteran -- who has impressed you the most. And say why.

I will give you two-one a rookie and one a veteran. Falcon's rookie WR Calvin Ridley looks great (3-49-1 in preseason week 2) and his route running is ready for primetime. If Julio Jones or Sanu go down with an injury...what are the chances...then Ridley will be rookie of the year. Another WR gets my veteran pick although he has not played much NFL time yet. Mike Williams should shake up the Chargers offense this year. His contested TD grab in week 2 sets the stage for more TDs especially with Hunter Henry's departure for the season. Either WR should be around in the middle of the draft and offer upside potential.

Ask the Expert Question of the Week:Which player who changed teams in the offseason are you most interested to see with their new team? And why.

Which player who changed teams in the offseason are you most interested to see with their new team? And say why.

Jerick McKinnon, RB, SF has to be my favorite this year. I loved the kid with my Vikings but they did not use him to maximum efficiency.  Now he is with Kyle Shanahan and his offensive scheme that utilizes feature RBs. The 49ers paid him to be a stud RB. Look for lots of catches out of the backfield and McKinnon to earn his feature back salary this year by rushing/receiving for 1300 combined yards and eight TDs. Jimmy Garoppolo helps McKinnon improve his YPC to the positive side of 4.0.

DraftKit.com Draft Board is here!!!

For me the arrival of the Draftkit.com Draft Board is the first step to realizing that my live local draft is just a few weeks away!

5 weeks until Saturday 25 Aug....

The draft board arrived this week! Yeah!

For the past 20 years I have used www.draftkit.com
DraftKit.com

They seem like great guys and always have given us a great product at a great price. And I really like the fact that they have a military discount. Last year they sent 209 free draft kits to personnel  members serving overseas at military bases. They have done this for many years and ask for nothing in return except the cost of shipping and handling.

Since 2002 they have given away over 2,100 free draft kits to military members overseas. I want to support this business since they appreciate the troops overseas.

Time to get excited about fantasy football!!!!!!

Draftkit.com also produce draft boards for other sports too!

NOTE: I do not get any discount or freebies from Draftkit.com for this blog post.
