3) Maurice Jones-Drew JAX RB –1300 yards and 15 TDs what’s not to like?

Fantasy Football Guidebook takes 2nd place in Fantasy Rankings for TEs and moves to 9th overall in Fantasy Index Experts
James Serra of First Place Sports Software is the winner of the tight ends
portion of the Experts Poll that appeared in Fantasy Football Index
magazine. He is also, at least for now, the overall leader in the
competition.
Fantasy Index Magazine is in the process of grading each of the six positions QB, RB, WR, TE, PK and defenses. Whichever expert amasses the most overall points, using our complex grading system is the overall winner.
At tight end, Serra is the winner, followed by Sam Hendricks (Fantasy
Football Guidebook) and Alan Satterlee (Dynasty Rogues). Serra¹s key pick,
it appears, was ranking Vernon Davis 14th four spots higher than any other
expert (seven didn¹t even include him in their top 20). Serra also benefited
by being one of the few experts who didn¹t rank Jason Witten first.
In this grading system, every pick counts. The higher you rank a player, the
more he counts towards your score. If you rank a player first, his fantasy
production is multiplied by 20. If you rank him 2nd, it gets multiplied by
19. Ranking him 3rd brings in 18 as the multiplier number and so on.
In the case of Vernon Davis, Serra ranked him 14th. That works out to about
1,047 points (6 x 174.5). If an expert ranked Davis 19th, he would receive
only 339 points for that choice (2 x 174.5).
This grading system isn¹t ideal. The penalty when a player gets injured
might be too severe. And that was the case with some key tight ends this
year both Chris Cooley and Owens Daniels got hurt, gutting some boards.
But it¹s the best system for grading these picks that we could think of.
On the overall board, Serra, Scott Pianowski (Yahoo! Sports) and Chris Liss
(Rotowire.com) are the current leaders.
When the scoring is done for all six positions, the top 11 finishers will
win spots in our Mock Draft league (with the No. 1 finisher getting to
choose where he would like to select). That field should be set in a few
days.
Tight ends are scored on the system of 1 point for every 10 yards and 6
points for touchdowns.

Fantasy Football Guidebook finishes 13th in Fantasy Index Rankings for Kickers
Over the next couple of days, Fantasy Index will score their Experts Poll selections that were made for the magazine. The first is grading the choices at the kicker position.
Christopher Harris of ESPN is the winner in this category, followed by ScottPianowski (Yahoo! Sports) and Chris Liss (Rotowire.com).
Scoring for this competition is far more complex than in a typical fantasy league. Every expert is graded on every pick the higher you rank a player, the more heavily he affects your score.
Nate Kaeding, for example, was the highest scoring kicker with 146 points. If you ranked him as your No. 1 kicker, that choice would have been worth 2,920 points (20 x 146). If you ranked him 2nd, he would be worth 2,774 (19x 146). Ranking him 3rd would be worth 2,628 (18 x 146) and so on. Using that system for all 20 kickers named by each of the 20 experts, Harris was the highest-scoring guy, with 23,302 points. For now, Pianowski is 240points back, and Liss is 402 points behind. Harris key choices, it seems, were ranking David Akers and Ryan Longwell higher than the vast majority of experts. He also didnt include AdamVinatieri on his draft board, which gave him a big boost (since Vinatieri didnt even play for most of the season). Attrition is huge in this scoring format there are no roster moves or fill-in players allowed.

5 Fantasy Football New Years Resolutions
The start of a New Year always seems to make people want to begin anew. Well, the same can happen in Fantasy Football and here are my 5 resolutions for 2010.
1) Play in less leagues-The more leagues you are in the more free agent decisions you need to make on Wed or Friday nights. Also more leagues means more time spent deciding on start/bench decisions etc. My limit is 4 money leagues and the same amount of “Expert”/magazine leagues.
2) I will not drop players after just 1 week of performance. I added Jerome Harrison CLE RB and then proceeded to drop him the next week when it looked as if the coaches hated him. he went on to greatness.
3) I will not forget the 4 PM EST games and injury concerns. See previous blog post about Steven Jackson in week 16. ARGGGGGggggggggg
4) I will have my next fantasy football book out for print by 1 June. Fantasy Football Basics will be a small, inexpensive guide to getting to know how to play fantasy football for the beginner. Perfect for your wife/girlfriend/mistress etc. I have the title and an outline now get to work!
5) Spend more time with my family. Enough said.

10 Predictions for the NFL and Fantasy Football in 2010
1) Brian Westbrook will NOT be an Eagle
