Do you view the incredible season by the Bears fantasy defense as a fluke, or the kind of thing that will have you targeting Chicago far earlier than you would normally draft a defense next season? And does this season alter your feelings on fantasy defenses in general going forward?
Fluke. Eight, count them, eight TDs on turnovers or kick returns. That is twice the norm and we are half way through the season. Those same interceptions do not go to the house next year, but instead end up being tackled at the twenty yard line.
Granted the more turnovers you have the greater the chance that one goes the distance, but to bank on the same amount scoring next year is crazy! Take away those TDs and you have a defense very close to the Giants or Texans in terms of fantasy scoring.
As always, league scoring rules are a big part of when to draft a position; but if like most of my money leagues, DEF comes late (just before kickers) and only after my sleepers at RB and WR.

I definitely think there is some talent on the Chicago defense. Brian Urlacher is definitely a star player and a game changer. Now that he's out though I don't see the Chicago Defense being as threatening of a force. Owners who have the Chicago defense on their fantasy foot ball team should beware.
