National Fantasy Football Championship (NFFC) offering satellite leagues

The NFFC has low entry costs of $125 and $150 to play in some of their satellite leagues. They also have a DraftMasters league for just $60.

The NFFC is offering some great 14 team high stakes fantasy football leagues. They also will be the only HSL offering multiple city drafts as they come to Las Vegas, Chicago and New York.

They have two Main Events: The Primetime and the Classic.

The Primetime offers a $150,000 prize to the winner and $9,500 in league prizes. The cost to enter is just $1,500. It has 12 team leagues and third round reversal which I have advocated for years whereby the draft order is reversed in the third round to give the last place pickers a fairer chance. So if you had pick 12 you would have 1.12, 2.01 and 3.01 (i.e the third round the last go first again).

The classic is a 14 team system with a $75,000 grand prize and $11,500 in league prizes. Entry cost is $1,500 here too.

In addition the NFFC has satellite leagues with entries as low as $60, but most are $125, $150, $250, $500 and $750.

Pros vs Joes Team from 10 spot in League 11

FFGuidebook.com  (Draft round in parenthesis)

QB Robert Griffin III      WAS/10      ( 8.03)   First QB in 8th rd
       Andy Dalton            CIN/8          (10.03)
       Matt Cassel              KC/7           (16.03)

RB M. Jones-Drew        JAX/6          (2.03)  Could not pass on MJD in 2nd
Isaac Redman         PIT/4           (5.10)  Needed to secure a starting RB2
       BGE                           CIN/8          (6.03)
       Mark Ingram            NO/6           (9.10)
Robert Turbin         SEA/11      (12.03)  Like his chances if Lynch suspended
Rashard Jennings JAX/6       (13.10)   Handcuff in case MJD holdout long term

WR Julio Jones            ATL/7         (3.10)    Love his potential
Steve Smith           CAR/6         (4.03)    Top 10 WR here
        S. Holmes               NYJ/9          (7.10)  perhaps a reach here
Sidney Rice            SEA/11        (11.10)  If healthy #1 WR in SEA
Laurent Robinson JAX/6         (14.03)    #1 in JAX bug what does that mean?
      Andre Roberts        AZ/10         (19.10)   Sleeper
      Kevin Walter            HOU/8       (25.10)
      D. Henderson          NO/6          (26.03)  Great in this format bc computer auto starts

TE Rob Gronkowski   NE/9            (1.10)   First pick but #1 TE and he gets 1.5 PPR
      Heath Miller            PIT/4            (15.10)
      Anthony Fasano   MIA/7          (17.10)

K   Jason Hanson        DET/5       (20.03)
      Robert Gould          CHI/6         (21.10)
      Adam Viniateri        IND/4        (23.10)

DEF NYJ                        NYJ/9       (18.03)
         OAK                       OAK/5      (22.03)
         TEN                       TEN/11     (24.03)

Overall I waited on QB and am hoping a 3 player QBBC with the computer picking the best scores can compensate for a non top 10 QB. RG3 will have some big games and I do not have to pick which ones since the computer automatically picks best lineup.
RB is weak if MJD holdouts much. But Jennings is the handcuff/insurance there. Could have potentially 4 starting RBs.
WR is top heavy; after top 2 then lots of players who could be strong but...
TE Gronk is best ( I have him over Graham this year too)
K and D who cares.
Could be a great team or a flop depending on the WR4-7 and Ingram and Turbin at RB.

Biggest regret was not taking CJ Spiller at 8.03 and waiting on QB until 9 and 10th rds. Arggggg!

Rookie RB Sleeper

David Wilson, NYG, RB- I really like the upside value a 40th ranked player gives, even if he is a Hokie. Ahmad Bradshaw is known for his injuries and that will give Wilson his opportunity. Opportunity plus skill equals success. RBs (especially those that can pick up the blitz and protect their QB) have the best chance of any rookies of succeeding. He can be a starting RB for your team and provide 700-800 yards and 8 TDs for a late round draft pick.

Footballguys Players Championships begins!

The Footballguys Players Championship (FPC) kicked off this weekend and will have drafts everyday from now until the start of the NFL season.

Just $350 gets you entry into this mid stakes contest with a chance at $150,000.

· FPC is comprised of 12 team leagues with 20 roster spots.
· Draft format is classic serpentine: 1-12, 12-1, 1-12, etc.

There are three distinct parts of the FFPC Main Event season. Teams have an opportunity to win prizes for succeeding in each of the three:
  • Part 1 - Regular season Weeks 1-11
  • Part 2 - League Playoffs Weeks 12 & 13
  • Part 3 - Championship Round and Consolation Round Weeks 14, 15 & 16
  • League Playoffs: At the end of the regular season, the two top seeds from each league each earn an automatic berth into the Championship Round, regardless of how they perform in the League Playoffs. The four top seeds (including the two above) from each league will compete in the 2-week, head-to-head League Playoff in Weeks 12 & 13. The winners of the Week 12 match-ups will play each other in Week 13 for the League Championship. The League Champion and runner up will win cash awards as described in the prize structure.

Roster/Scoring: The FPC starting lineup allows for two (2) flex positions, also known as the Dual-Flex. The scoring system gives 1 point per reception for RBs & WRs but also gives 1.5 points per reception for TEs, putting extra weight to the TE position. Action scoring is implemented for all TDs: any TD scored by a player is scored as 6 points to that individual player, in addition to any D/ST scoring that may apply.
