Sam Hendricks finishes 22nd out of 90+ in QB Rankings for 2012

Sometimes the house wins. That was the case at the quarterback position in the Fantasy Index Open. Ninety one readers and analysts sent in their picks before the July deadline, but Ian Allan was able to outscore all of them.

Allan was high on the two high-profile rookie quarterbacks, Robert Griffin III (13th) and Andrew Luck (14th). That’s where he did his damage. Only a handful of the other entries even put Luck in their top 20. Those were the driving picks that led to the first-place finish in this category.

Looking at just readers, the top finisher was Richard Jackson, an attorney from Berkley. Anthony Borbely, a student from Taylor, Mich., was second.

Next in line was Michael Stanco, who identifies himself as a professional wrestler. That’s not a joke. Stanco is, in fact, a wrestler, competing under the name “Maximum Capicity” (for photos, see his Facebook page).

The overall champion of the Fantasy Index Open competition will be crowned on Monday morning. He will receive a gigantic trophy from Affordable Trophies. They've been making trophies for fantasy leagues for over 15 years. The trophy they'll be handing out for this one is similar in size to an NFL Lombardi trophy.

The winner of this competition also wins a spot in the Experts Poll proper, where he'll compete alongside our usual cast of 20 experts. This is a win-and-your-in competition.
