Fantasy Football Tip #231-Play your opponents players when needed

That's right folks we are up to Fantasy Football Tip #231.
Tip 1-230 are in the recently released (in time for the holidays) Fantasy Football Tips (2nd Edition).

Tip 231-Play your opponents players when needed.
What do I mean by this? Well an example will do and last week was perfect for me in my local league. Going into the Sunday night game I was 45 points ahead with just my QB to play. I had Cam Newton on Sunday Night Football against NO or Tony Romo on MNF vs CHI. I had both projected to score about 20 points. Cam is the better fantasy player but faced a determined NO defense at home coming off an embarrassing loss at SEA a week earlier.

Who do I start?
Well when both QBs were about the same I then (and only then) looked at who my opponent was starting. He had Dez Bryant and Jason Witten. I decided to start Tony Romo to neutralize the effects of his two receivers. Since I was ahead by lots of points this was the smart play. If, on the other hand, I was down or only up a small amount going with Cam may have been better because I needed more then what he would get from his WR/TE combo. And avoiding the Romo tie in gave me the best shot of winning in the latter scenario.

So if in doubt look at neutralizing your opponents players but only if your options are projected to score about the same anyway. This way you can score points if his players go off big time.
